Read Psalm 23. Now let me ask you, what do you think David was talking about when he said goodness and mercy; or goodness and love in other versions, will follow me all the days of my life?
As I read this in my morning devotional I was challenged to think about this; I had always thought that if God was my protector, on my side, then goodness and mercy would follow me; meaning that it would be something I could expect. That being said;look at Jesus; he was perfect and yet people despised him, tried to trick him, demanded of him, hurt him, denied and betrayed him. So would you think goodness and mercy followed him? Absolutely!!! I wasn't about him receiving it was about him giving; he brought goodness and mercy and love everywhere he went.
So let us forgive as we have been forgiven, let us loved as we have been loved and let us pass on the inheritance Jesus has given us.
